Hydrogen peroxide is an inorganic compound (compounds that do not have a C-H bond – covalent carbon-hydrogen bond – in their structure) of hydrogen and oxygen with the gross formula H2O2. You can easily buy hydrogen peroxide online at a drugstore. You can also go to a local drugstore in your town or city. When buying, you should pay attention to the concentration, quantity and price. At some druggists it is for sale in small 120 ml bottles while others offer it in large bottles for, say, 1000 ml. Small bottles are usually cheaper but you also get a smaller quantity for your money. The purpose for which you use it determines the size of the bottle. Some supermarkets also have it for sale. Standard concentrate is 3%.

How to use hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide mouthwash

You can use hydrogen peroxide for your teeth in cases of jaw inflammation, for example. For mouth rinses, first dilute the hydrogen peroxide 1 to 1 with lukewarm water (as much water as concentrate). Rinse the mouth thoroughly with 10-15 ml 4 times a day for 1-2 minutes. After this, spit out the mixture and do not swallow it! Use the mixture as long as the symptoms persist but no more than 7 days in a row. Hydrogen peroxide disinfects and fizzes. It kills many bacteria found in the mouth that can cause inflammation. The effervescence also loosens dirt in troublesome places.

Hydrogen peroxide 3%

For individuals, hydrogen peroxide is sold at a standard concentration of 3%. If you want to buy stronger concentrations than 12%, selling parties are not allowed to offer it to individuals. You must have a company with the necessary papers to do so.

Hydrogen peroxide dangerous

For individuals, solutions with a strength between 3% and 12% are available. Stronger solutions are also available for sale but are potentially explosive and should therefore be handled with extreme caution.
